About Kim Baker

Kim Baker is the founder and owner of K. Baker, LLC and a former Assistant Chief Counsel with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where she represented the government in immigration proceedings and handled complex immigration litigation matters. She brings over 20 years of combined professional experience in auditing, business, taxation, real estate, consulting, and instruction. Her background includes service with the United States Department of the Treasury as an IRS Agent, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, Deloitte, the Small Business Administration (SBA), and LexisNexis, where she is also a published author. Ms. Baker is a Fulbright Candidate (Department of State) 2023-2026 and serves on several nonprofit boards.

Ms. Baker is a multijurisdictional attorney licensed to practice in New Jersey, the District of Columbia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Throughout her career, she has held multiple professional roles, including attorney, tax consultant, auditor, special agent, real estate broker, and instructor. This diverse background allows her to provide comprehensive legal guidance across immigration, tax, and regulatory matters, while also advising on HOA governance to support compliant and effective community operations.

Ms. Baker is an active member of the North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, and District of Columbia Bar Associations, as well as the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), where she served on the Continuing Legal Education and New Membership Committees. She is committed to public service and volunteers with the Charlotte Triage Pro Bono Partnership, Charlotte Legal Advocacy, and the Rule of Law Foundation in collaboration with LexisNexis.
